Supporting Gifted, 2E, and Accelerated Learners
Challenging and supporting advanced learners through one-on-one instruction that adapts to their pace, strengths, and unique needs.“Tilden rebuilt my son's confidence that he lost at the public school he previously attended. The staff and teachers are terrific and very professional... I truly appreciated all their support and guidance as we were going through the college application process. My son was accepted at most of the colleges he applied (to)... mostly due to Tilden.”Tilden Parent
How We Support Gifted, 2E, and Accelerated Students

One-on-One Instruction for Individualized Challenge
In a one-on-one setting, gifted and accelerated students aren’t held back by a group pace. Teachers can adjust lessons to move quickly through mastered material, dive deeper into areas of interest, and introduce advanced coursework as soon as students are ready.

Meeting the Needs of Twice-Exceptional (2E) Students
For 2E learners, those who are both gifted and face learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, or anxiety, Tilden’s approach ensures that support and challenge go hand in hand. Students receive targeted help where needed while still being engaged at their intellectual level.

Mastery Learning for Depth and Confidence
With mastery learning, students progress only once they’ve truly understood the material. This approach prevents gaps in knowledge, fosters academic confidence, and supports both rapid acceleration and deep exploration of advanced concepts.

Empathy-Based and Strength-Focused Teaching
Our faculty use empathy-based instruction to connect with gifted and 2E students, who may feel misunderstood or bored in traditional environments. By emphasizing a strength-based approach, we celebrate their talents, whether in problem-solving, creativity, leadership, or innovation, while guiding them through challenges with patience and understanding.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Tilden applies Universal Design for Learning to make content flexible and accessible. For accelerated students, this might mean multi-modal projects that stretch their creativity. For 2E students, it ensures multiple entry points to engage with material and demonstrate knowledge in ways that play to their strengths.
